	Infrastructure Indaba - I would like to sincerely thank you for 
	your valued support in making the 2018 CESA Infrastructure Indaba a 
	resounding success and for playing your part in addressing pertinent 
	industry issues. &nbsp;We look forward to your participation in growing the 2019 
	Indaba to greater heights. The Indaba closed with the following resolutions, 
	namely to: 
	● Set up a MOU with the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (GDID) 
	● Develop a pilot project for the delivery of infrastructure, procurement, 
	including the role of the client etc. 
	● Collaborate with similar industry bodies in driving a value for money
	procurement philosophy, ensuring the re-professionalising of the 
	Practice and Business of Consulting Engineering whilst supporting the 
	development of a sustainable industry 
	● Drive CEO commitment from member companies in embracing the true meaning of transformation beyond the Construction Sector Scorecard 
	● Drive collaboration with the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agency 
	(MISA) in support of a partnership with local government

	 Procurement and Contractual Issues – Members are 
	 reminded that they are welcome to raise their Procurement and Contractual 
	 issues with us. One of the advantages of being a CESA Member is that CESA 
	 can and does raise issues with Public Sector Clients on behalf of members 
	 without revealing the identity of the affected firms. If you experience 
	 such issues, then you are most welcome to contact the CESA Contractual 
	 Affairs Manager, Wally Mayne at <a href="mailto:wally@cesa.co.za">

	 I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our newly elected 
	 Branch Committee Members for the Gauteng Province.&nbsp; The elected 
	 members are: Chairperson - Gift Mphefu; Vice-Chairperson – Marshall 
	 Muthen; Treasurer &amp; Secretary – Casper Prinsloo and an additional member - 
	 Gert Fourie. 
	 We invite member firms to avail their staff to perform similar roles at 
	 the various Branches across the Country. We have also sent out a National 
	 request for volunteers to serve on our various National Client Liaison 
	 Committees. There is no scheduled fixed commitment, as meetings with 
	 various Client Bodies will be mostly on an ad hoc basis, so we do not 
	 anticipate that it will be burdensome for volunteers.
	 It is important to remind ALL MEMBERS, that we have a 
	 very small contingent of administrative staff at the CESA Directorate and 
	 the strength and ongoing success of CESA can only be fully leveraged if we 
	 get sufficient support from our constituency, which is You, our Members. &nbsp;

	 2018 - GAMA Annual Conference 6 – 9 May, BAMAKO - The 
	 three-day FIDIC-GAMA Conference will be held under the central theme: 
	 “Aligning the Consulting Engineer’s Role to the Vision of Africa’s 
	 Infrastructure Development”.&nbsp; Throughout the conference, other themes 
	 will address the challenges and the best practices for the Infrastructure 
	 Development in Africa, the progress through Infrastructure Investment, 
	 African Integration and the Transnational Infrastructure Programs in 
	 Mining, Energy, Water, Sanitation, Environment and Sustainable

	 CESA YPF 2018 Job Shadowing Initiative - Members are 
	 advised that the Annual 2018 Job Shadowing Initiative will take&nbsp;place over 
	 a period of three months – May, June and July this year. &nbsp;With the theme 
	 of “A Day in the Life of a Consulting Engineer” member firms are 
	 encouraged to provide learners with an experience like no other.&nbsp; The 
	 goal of the CESA YPF Job Shadowing Initiative is to expose and entice 
	 School Learners to the Engineering field, but more so to pursuing a career 
	 in Consulting Engineering. By giving them an experience like no other, 
	 learners get a chance to imagine, live, work and play Engineering – 
	 opening their minds to a world of possibilities and opportunities. 
	 Furthermore, this year participating firms may either submit a single 
	 entry - pre-entry form and poster - by firm or multiple entries by 
	 regional offices. We hope that this change to the entry criteria will 
	 encourage competition between regional offices of larger firms and 
	 encourage participation by smaller firms.

	Contracts on sale from CESA – Members are reminded that CESA is the 
	first Member Association licensed by PROCSA to sell their electronic 
	contract documents. PROCSA documents can be ordered by phone or by visiting
