				Sustainability Infrastructure Development Symposium 
				South Africa 23 June 2020 - CESA was one of the 
				entities invited by President Cyril Ramaphosa to discuss 
				infrastructure development and investment at the recently held 
				Sustainability Infrastructure Development Symposium South 
				Africa. I participated as one of the panellists in the

				South Africa (SIDSSA) 2020 Booklet - The 
				Infrastructure and Investment Office embarked on a process to 
				develop a new methodology for planning and project preparation, 
				which has become known as the SIDS Methodology, to ensure that 
				infrastructure development is not merely undertaken in a 
				transactional manner.

		ECSA Fee Guidelines – CESA has learnt that after 
		severe disruptions due to Covid-19, the process of the revision of the 
		ECSA Guideline Fees is finally underway under the direct auspices of 
		ECSA and is intended to be ratified at its August 2020 Council meeting.&nbsp;

		JBCC publishes new contracts – These two new 
		contract documents are the JBCC Small &amp; Simple Works Contract, Edition 
		1.0 – May 2020 and the JBCC Direct Contractor’s Contract, Edition 1.0 – 
		May 2020, which are available from the CESA Bookstore. Kindly contact Ms

		Practice Notes – The revision of the CESA Practice 
		Notes (PNs) is largely in the proof-reading phase, with 67 PNs having 
		been revised, 13 PNs being archived (obsolete), 28 PNs proof-read and 13 
		PNs awaiting revision.
		CESA Model Professional Services Agreement &amp; Specific Data, 
		August 2014 – We are considering comment from the SCM Committee 
		prior to finalising proof reading the draft prior to publication of the 
		revised version of this popular Form of Agreement.
		Online contract documents – CESA has recently 
		contracted with Fresh Projects who are hosting the CESA Forms of 
		Agreement on their website at&nbsp;

		Digital CESA Contract Documents (in addition to those on the ‘Contracts

		contracts for their projects and are able to digitally customise their 
		contracts and download a unique project-linked encrypted PDF.&nbsp; 
		Additionally, the tool supports the online creation of Contract Details 
		(e.g. Specific Data, Scope of Services, etc) via an easy to use 
		interface.
		SANS Standard for Structural Design approved – CESA 
		has been informed by its SABS representative that the&nbsp; standard, 
		SANS 10400-BED4:2020: ‘The application of the National Building 
		Regulations Part B: Structural design’, has been approved for 
		publication and will be available for sale once the publication process 
		has been finalised. Members can contact SABS Standards Sales on 012 428
