This is an unsustainable practice that is prejudicial to the Members who are fully paid up, and can no longer be tolerated.</p> <p>Any Members who have not submitted their Annual Declarations by 30 June 2017, will be invoiced on the 2016 staff numbers, plus the 2017 subscription fee increase as well as the non-refundable 20% penalty, in terms of the CESA Constitution and By-laws.</p> <p>In addition, after 31 July 2017, Members not in ‘good standing’ (fully paid up) will be suspended, which includes removal from the Membership Database on the CESA website and informing Clients seeking confirmation of their CESA membership that the Members are no longer ‘in good standing’.<br /> Members are reminded that the Annual CESA Membership Certificates are valid for a period of 12 months (28 February to 1 March) and are only issued to members ‘in good standing’. The previous CESA Membership Certificates without an expiry date, are no longer valid and Clients will be informed accordingly. Members’ cooperation in this regard will be greatly appreciated.</p> <p><strong>PI Insurance –</strong> Aon provides PI Insurance for Retired Sole Practitioners who were CESA members, at no cost to these practitioners, as part of the CESA PI Scheme they administer on behalf of CESA. The cost of the exam is R350 excl VAT.</p> <p><strong>Procurement Tip: Can one person represent two companies at briefing? -</strong> A representative (person chosen or appointed to act or speak for another or others) of a company is anyone who is mandated to do so. The standard wording in SANS 10845-3 reads as follows:</p> <ul> <li><em>The tenderer shall comply with the following obligations.</em></li> <li><em>4.7 Attend, where required, a clarification meeting, the details of which are stated in the tender data, at which tenderers may familiarize themselves with aspects of the proposed work, services or supply, and raise questions </em></li> </ul> <p>The wording states that a tenderer needs to attend. It is a bit of a grey area if one has a representative of the tenderer attending. To close this gap, one would need to state that full time employees need to attend.
