    <td><p><b><span class="standardmainheading">The Mentor</span></b></p>
<p>The  Mentor must be professionally registered in the appropriate category.&nbsp; The Mentor&rsquo;s role is to guide and facilitate  the professional development of the Candidate.&nbsp;  A Mentor must commit to the following duties:</p>
      <ul>
        <li>The Mentor  must participate in the planning and advise on the suitability of the programme  of work and experience for the Candidates development. Training tasks of phases  must be planned to ensure that the Candidate develops towards competency  required for registration standard for the category of registration.</li>
        <li>Ensure that  the Candidate is exposed to increasing demands towards competency required for  registration.</li>
        <li>Ensure the  Candidate completes the agreed training.</li>
        <li>If the Mentor  is not the Candidate&rsquo;s Supervisor, to liaise with the Supervisor to ensure that  the work assigned to the Candidate is consistent with training objectives.</li>
        <li>On the  completion of each agreed task or phase, the Mentor must receive a report from  the Candidate and review the outcomes achieved in the light of the objectives.</li>
        <li>The Mentor  must assist the Candidate to decide when he/she is ready to apply for  registration and assist with the application</li>
      </ul>
