<td><p>In partnership with Aon South Africa, CESA hosted the <em>CESA Youth Best Practice Webinar: Leadership and Management</em> on 20 August 2020. This session was facilitated by CESA YPF Northern Cape Branch Deputy Chair and Aganang Consulting Engineers director, Pearl Mabija. Speakers included Aon South Africa Client Service Advisor for Corporate, Nyasha Madzingira and CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards 2009 Young Engineer of the Year, Dr Lucas-Jan Ebels who is also the Division Head for Transportation at Mariswe.</p>

<p>In the presentation, Madzingira mentioned that as leaders of the future, it is important to be actively involved in issues that will affect future generations. Dr Ebels recommended to attendees that they should approach their work as though they are working in their own company – to take ownership of the work and to undertake it with integrity. Dr Ebels also stated that delayed gratification is a concept he doesn’t take lightly and urged young professionals to put in the work today to reap the benefits tomorrow. “You also need to distinguish yourself from others, you must make others notice you,” he stated.</p>

<p>On Thursday 10 September, CESA and Aon South Africa teamed up once again to present another successful <em>CESA Youth Best Practice Webinar: Leadership and Management</em>. This second instalment was facilitated by Keamogetswe Mmekwa, Senior Consultant for Asset Management at Zutari Africa. Speakers included Zamani Ngidi, Client Manager for Cyber Solutions at Aon South Africa, and Imraan Mahomed, CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards 2012 Young Engineer of the Year and Office Manager for Zutari Africa in KwaZulu-Natal.</p>

<p>The webinar addressed two broad topics through insightful presentations from different speakers, who related their own life stories and expertise coupled with best practices. The topics were <em>Engineering, Business and Entrepreneurship</em> and <em>Personal and Professional Development</em>. In his presentation, Ngidi advised young professionals to think differently, use non-tangible assets to unlock value and find their purpose. Mahomed stated that our experience, our expertise and solutions are learnt from both the good and the bad lessons in our professional journey. “We shouldn’t only acknowledge the good,” stated Mahomed. </p></td>
